COMMENTARY on Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (Evidence) | First and Latest Book for Commentary on BSA

Having the New Major Criminal Laws come into force on 01/07/2024, several publishers are continuously releasing books in the form of bare Acts of BNS, BNSS and BSA with comparative tables.

While the stream of publication is going as such, the reputed law book publishers M/s. Asia Law House have now made a maiden attempt to give commentary on those three New Laws and remain successful as its two editions have sold on popular demand. On that score, this present latest edition contains commentary on Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 in the form of Notes and Case Laws and made BSA easy to understand for the readers.

Its Author Mr. K.Sudhakar, being a retd. Superintendent of Police has elegantly structured and explained the BSA in this book systematically.  He says in his front note that in order to avoid reading the entire substance of the Section to know the difference between the old Act (IEA 1872) and new Act (BSA 2023), he has compared both the Acts word by word and highlighted / made bold the amendments/additions in the new Act for ready reference by the Readers and the amendment/changes in the heading of the Section are in Italic.

Besides that, it is pertinent to point out that the Author has taken much pain to make this commentary most practicable to the readers in the following aspects:-

(1) Corresponding section of old Act is given at the end of each section of the New Act,

(2) Prepared two tables one with old Indian Evidence Act Sections serially mentioned showing the new Act related Sections in the next column for comparison and vice-e-versa.

(3) Some important Sections newly added in the Act are highlighted, namely Section 2(2), Words and expressions and Section 61; Electronic or digital record; Section 63 : Admissibility of electronic records is in detail and proforma of Certificates Part A (To be filled by the Party) and Part B (To be filled by the Expert) printed infra.

(4) For Legal / Latin words meanings are given in Foot Note for clear and easy understanding.

Thus this book would give a complete understanding of New Evidence Act to step further in the lucrative legal practice.
