Description

There are a number of books available which contain only the words of the legislation (Bare Acts) and also voluminous tomes which contain discussions of cases on those legislations (commentaries). However for a long time there has been felt a need for a book which strikes a balance between the two, i.e., which would be much smaller and more concise than the voluminous commentaries but at the same time would contain short summaries of cases which would act as a guide regarding how Courts implement and interpret the words of the legislations.

This book is an attempt to fill that gap. It is divided into two main parts:

    Part I  - Bare Act & Rules with Allied Laws;
    Part II - Digest of Cases

In Part I, the following Allied Acts, Rules, Order etc. have been added. They are,-

  • (1) The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1985,
  • (2) The Prevention of illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988
  • (3) The Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property (Procedure) Rules, 1989
  • (4) The Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property (Fees) Rules, 1989
  • (5) The Illegally Acquired Property (Receipt, Management and Disposal) Rules, 1989
  • (6) The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Authentication of Documents) Rules, 1992
  • (7) The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Order, 2013
  • (8) The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Seizure, Storage, Sampling and Disposal) Rules, 2022
  • (9) Notifications

The unique feature of this book is that in Part II, it contains a Digest of Cases on the NDPS Act from 2003 onwards till 2023. This unique feature is not available in any such book available in the market. Further cases dealing with bail under the NDPS Act have been given under a separate heading.

Thus we can say that this book is a innovative and unique presentation of NDPS Act to meet the quick requirements of its readers, patrons including Advocates, Police, Law Students etc.

All the best
